What is the Dunning-Kruger effect?

You have probably met an individual who feels they are better than they actually are. The reality is that you and others know otherwise but unfortunately this person truly believes it – welcome to the Dunning-Kruger effect. You may say this is a long-distance cousin to arrogance where a team member feels superior and smarter than anyone else but in this case this effect is about embracing a false image of themselves. So, how do you work with someone who suffers from the Dunning-Kruger effect?
